THE IKECA DIFFERENCE
IKECA is an international organization of commercial kitchen exhaust cleaners who are dedicated to fire prevention and the protection of life and property.

Since 1989, IKECA has been the leader in a virtually unregulated industry. The tragic fire in Boston in 2007 brought the industry into the limelight in many municipalities. Jurisdictions across the US and Canada are now scrutinizing the industry and finding ways to improve their participation in investigating and overseeing providers.

The members of IKECA are committed to being a part of this process, including educating fire professionals about the importance and necessity of a properly cleaned and maintained kitchen exhaust system.

Recent NFPA figures state that 54% of restaurant fires begin in the kitchen. IKECA members want to see that number drop. Part of that is in doing a complete job, and part is in reaching out to fire professionals to help educate them on the importance of this issue.

IKECA members realize that your time and resources are limited. We hope that, by sharing information and opening a dialogue with fire professionals, we can all work to that common goal of fire prevention.
